Welcome to 4th grade math and science.  I'm so glad you will be joining me this year for our 4th grade adventure!  Our school theme for the year is transportation and the places we will go.  Get ready because we will be doing a lot of going.  The highlight of our year will be our trip to Austin in February to learn about our great state!  Some new ideas that we will work on in math are division, 2 digit multiplication, and decimals.  In science, we will be introduced to electricity and some new earth cycles.  We are going to experiment with alternative seating (so we can wiggle and still focus), so our classroom may look a little different.  In our classroom, we love to explore, be out of our room, work together, and do hard things. Guess what! It is going to be great!
Get to know me:
This will be my 4th year working in Cleburne ISD and I have been at Santa Fe for all of those years.  I also live in Cleburne (conveniently close to Sonic!).  My husband grew up in Granbury and my grandparents lived there as well.  Lo and behold, we grew up and found each other.   I attended Howard Payne University (Sting 'em!) and majored in elementary education and minored in Spanish.  Interestingly enough, I was homeschooled from kinder to 12th grade.  My mother was and is a wonderful teacher and my education was remarkable!  I strive to bring as many of those wonderful experiences as possible to share with my class.  In my years of teaching, I've grown to love texting.  Please feel free to text me or email me ( anytime.  I'll be available for conferences during my conference, before school, or after school for face to face meetings.  The more I know about my students and their families, the more I can help, so let me know problems and success, little things and big stuff, and whatever else!
Chromebooks:  This year we will have 1:1 devices, Chromebooks!  We will be incorporating more and more technology into our learning now that we have this resource.  Please check with your student regularly about happenings from our class on our CISD Santa Fe site and Google Classroom!
